Dr. Derichsweiler deals with the entire range of psychiatric disorders, in particular:
- Organic, including symptomatic mental disorders, e.g. dementia
- Disorders from the schizophrenic group
- Affective disorders
- Anxiety disorders
The Psychiatric Examination
The psychiatric examination is performed through a conversation with the doctor. He assesses a clinical picture that may include:
- Mood Swings
- Psychomotor skills
- Thinking (formally and continentally)
- Disease processing
It is not only necessary in psychiatric diseases to undertake such an examination.
All organic diseases (not just those of the brain) can be associated with mental disorders. The burden of the patient by their physical illness can wear down and hollow out, can negatively affect the psyche.
The doctor's questions about your mental condition do not automatically imply that you have a serious mental defect.
